16 Frames

Well, here is the first second of my 15 second logo animation! I am very excited for this project. Of course, I chose to make my animation really complicated so, I have to do a lot of work outside of class. I don't know if I want to make the lines really clean or keep it the way it is. I kind of like that sketchy look. Maybe I'll do a darker contour line around and keep the underdrawing...we shall see.

Twelve Hours

Here are the three portraits I've been working on recently. Two of them I did today (hence the title twelve hours). None of them are completely finished but, I am some what happy with them. Side note, for some reason these pictures don't capture what my drawings actually look like. They are much nicer in real life.
Color pencil (uncompleted)

Pen and Ink (background needed + finish hair)

Charcoal (Completed)

Pencil (on the right. Does not photograph well so that's why you don't get to see a close up...Muwahaha!!)

School Display!

EEKKK! One of my zodiac pattern fills was chosen to be displayed in the digital art department! No biggie...JK! I'M SUPER HAPPY! I was so excited when I saw it today. It was a secret goal of mine to get one of my pieces in the display case.

Close up of mine (*cough* the best one *cough*) ;)

Three hours!

This is just a screen shot from a new project we started today in my animation class. In all honesty, I don't know how I feel about it. It's not really what I had pictured. While my other classmates are very expressionistic with fancy brush strokes and vibrant colors, mine is very muted and tight. Maybe I'm coming across a new style? Or maybe be I have no idea what I'm doing! Anyway, there is more to the picture but I'm only showing you the part that I am happy with. I promise to post the whole animation when it's completed :)

Spirit Animal (Bella the Goat)

This is a drawing I did about a year ago. Our teacher had us pick an animal out of a velvet bag and then draw it; mine was obviously a goat. It's fun to look back on older drawings and see all the progress that's been made. This drawing was featured in the student art show last semester. I was so proud of it then but now, I'm embarrassed because I know I can do better. More recent work to come :)

Logo

Today in my digital art class we had a critique on the logos we've been creating for the past week. The teacher commented on the delicacy of my mine and added that it really reflects who I am. She also said that she was going to show it to her other classes :) So, here it is...
I'm not going to lie, I was inspired by Claire Keane's work. If you are unfamiliar with her art, you should check out her website claireonacloud.com. She is the daughter of legendary Disney animator Glen Keane.

Peter Pan

Most everyone I know has seen this, but I thought I might as well post it. Here is my Peter Pan photo montage. Peter Pan has always been one of my favorite books. As most of my friends know I suffer from a Peter Pan complex; I never want to grow up! Enjoy :)

Crazy Zodiac

Today in my digital drawing and painting class we made our own Zodiac symbol. They are a mix between our Chinese symbol (rooster) and our Zodiac sign (libra). The fist one is a pattern fill, the second is monochromatic and the third is complementary colors with a gradient. I really liked this project. I wish I had just a bit more time to do some clean up work.

Quick Doodle :)

Here is a quick 3min drawing I did before class started today! I'm happy with how clean the lines are. I've always had a hard time drawing proportionate eyes, so I am pleased with how it turned out :)

Finding Me....

Hello everyone :) My name is Clelia. I am currently a digital art major at Grossmont College. I have created this blog as a way to get some of my work out there. This blog is really more for me though. I am trying to find myself as an artist and as a person. I want to find my style and my passion in life. Hopefully, this will help me get there. The way I've decided to do this is by posting everything I do...the good, the bad and the ugly. I am open to all feed back or input you may have. Thank you for being part of my journey :) Art to come soon...
